National Instruments cDAQ-U4200 CompactDAQ Universal Measurement Bundle
The National Instruments cDAQ-U4200 (Part Number: 868016-01) is a full CompactDAQ Universal Measurement Bundle designed specifically for versatile measurement of sensor data. The system is suitable for multi-purpose testing applications used in industrial automation, research and development and product validation. This bundle offers a full, ready to use solution for interfacing directly to a wide range of sensors and signals while reducing the setup time for engineers and technicians.
The main part of this bundle is the rugged cDAQ-9174, a four slot USB chassis that forms the backbone of the system. This chassis has high-speed USB 2.0 capabilities with 50 ppm timing precision and a timing resolution of 12.5 ns. The chassis supplies the necessary power and data streams to the connected modules and has been constructed for desktop use with the mounting kit included. The system consists of two NI-9219 universal analog input modules. Each NI-9219 module has four individually selectable channels, capable of simultaneous sampling with a 100 S/s per channel rate, using 24-bit delta-sigma ADCs. This design allows measurements of different types to be made at the same time on each of the four channels, including thermocouples, RTDs (P90062), strain gauges in full, half, or quarter bridge configurations, with voltage, current and resistance measurements, etc. Each module has critical 250 VAC channel to channel isolation providing safety and signal integrity in electrically noisy environments. The added accessories which are part of the packaging such as backshell connectors NI-9972 give added security in the talkability through strain relief and protection of the customer when in real use of the equipment.
The cDAQ-U4200 Bundle is suitable for acquiring and logging data from various sensors in test and measurement applications. The excellent flexibility of the bundle makes it quite useful for designing a portable data acquisition system for benchtop laboratory work or integrated monitoring in light industrial applications. By combining the modularity of the cDAQ-9174 chassis with the highly flexible NI-9219 modules, this system represents a powerful and scalable platform for accurate universal measurement, and gives the opportunity to tackle the more complex measurement problems encountered when measuring and recording mixed signal sets with a unique, integrated system designed and marketed by a very reputable supplier of measurement hardware.
